Retatrutide (GLP-3)
RESEARCH PURPOSES ONLY
What is Retatrutide?
Retatrutide is a new “triple-agonist” peptide, (analog of GLP-1, GIP, and Glucagon receptors), that will be administered via injection on a weekly basis for obesity and Type 2 diabetes. The drug is designed to decrease hunger and increase feelings of fullness, as well as enhance metabolism through increased energy expenditure. Clinical studies have shown large reductions in body fat, with total body weight losses reported up to 24-29%.
- GLP-1 (Glucagon-Like Peptide-1): Reduces appetite, slows digestion (gastric emptying), and increases feelings of fullness.
-
GIP (Glucose-dependent Insulinotropic Polypeptide): Works with GLP-1 to enhance insulin release, improve fat metabolism, and potentially reduce nausea compared to GLP-1-only drugs.
- Glucagon: Increases energy expenditure (calorie burn) and assists in breaking down stored fat.
